For May
Decorate your house a little. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive,
it has to be really what you like. Your displays help others see into
your own heart. And it’s the heart of your home that’s important
anyway. Here are some hints.
• Keep the house clean, as clean as you can because it just makes
the home more welcoming.
• Add little personal touches to it: a photo here, a favorite gift
there. These things can be a window into your family priorities.
• Brighten a room. Bring something in from the outside. A simple
bouquet of flowers your children have picked, an arrangement of vegetables
from your home garden or even just a fragrant plant may inspire joy in
your household.
• Be creative. Have your children create a spring collage to hang
on the refrigerator, or a cross-made out twigs, leaves and glue to set
off your entryway or dining area.
• Use color—even a new dishtowel in your kitchen can sometimes
brighten up an otherwise dull or old room.
