CREATION - 1

Pages << 1 2 3 >>

All creation is from God, from the smallest speck of dust to the largest rock of a mountain. Behind or underneath all the specific things of creation, wonderful and good as they are, is something even more wonderful.

Don't you ever wonder at how all the various parts of creation keep their place? Don't you ever wonder at how they stay so orderly?

For example, the air remains above us for breathing and as a cool breeze to refresh us. The waters remain contained in rivers, lakes, oceans, and seas. Trees stand up straight, and mountain ranges remain in place. I just expect this to be so. And most of the time it is so. Behind and underneath all the specific things of creation is this wonderful and awesome order.

On occasion, however, parts of creation fall into disorder. Winds sweep over the land so hard that they blow the rich soil away. Rivers and even seas push in on and flood the space that is usually dry land. Trees fall down in a storm, and mountains sometimes erupt from inside. We find this disorder surprising and hard to deal with. Immediately we address God in prayer, asking that order be restored. We know only God can do that.

Do I praise God for the original and usual order with the same frequency and feeling as I ask God to save me from periodic disorder?

Christophers: "It is better to light one little candle than to curse the darkness."

Matthew: "Let your light shine . . . ."

Colossians: "Live a life full of thanksgiving"

Discover the order of God's creation today, and generously praise God for the beauty and order of creation.
