This new high school text presents a solid foundation for understanding the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church, both in history and in symbol. Following this foundation, the author explores each sacrament in a seperate chapter. Today the same basic sacramental rites are celebrated in a culturally diverse and worldwide Church. The text promotes an appreciation of the unity in diversity, which is the historical heritage of the Catholic tradition and the means of communicating and celebrating the mystery of Christ. |
